Join us at the studio for a one-of-a-kind upholstery experience, in collaboration with Derby-based design house Blackpop — known for their bold, expressive, maximalist fabrics. Over two days, you won’t just learn upholstery…
you’ll bring to life a statement piece that’s completely your own.

It’s about creating something that reflects your taste, your style, your home.

You''ll choose your fabric from a curated selection of Blackpop’s signature designs
Over the course of the weekend you will also meet the designers behind the brand and hear their creative process
Together we will explore how pattern, colour and upholstery come together
And you'll build your piece from the frame upwards

You’ll leave with something you’re genuinely proud to say…

WHAT MAKES THIS WEEKEND SPECIAL

Limited to just 4 people 
1 metre of Blackpop velvet included — you choose your design ahead of the day and it will be ready and waiting for you

And over the weekend, you’ll spend some time with Paula and Maxine from Blackpop — hearing about their design process, asking questions, and getting a real insight into the fabrics you’re working with.

The Setting

The weekend takes place at Torr Vale Mill, a historic mill set within the Peak District landscape.
It’s a beautiful and calm place to learn — stone walls, river views and natural light, far removed from the noise of everyday life.
Lunch is included on both days and served at the Torr Vale Tap, the on-site pub and restaurant at the mill.
For those travelling from further afield, accommodation is also available at the mill, making it easy to turn the weekend into a relaxing short break. You can view and book the accommodation here.
