  • If you’ve mastered the basics of upholstery and want to advance from smaller upholstered items too chairs and sofas, then this is the course for you. Throughout this year-long course you will make a wingback armchair with a difference. This chair has been designed to teach you as many transferable skills as we can cram into one project.

  • If you are located in the UK, then you can choose to take this course as a make-along, which includes the chair frame, seat and back cushions, springs and legs.

    Alternatively this course is also available as a watch-along, which provides access to the video tutorials.

Frequently asked questions

  • Every course I teach goes out live, offering you the opportunity to join me and a community of like-minded people. This allows you to ask questions, as I demonstrate each and every step of the process. I use Zoom, which is a user-friendly and free platform. I use up to four different camera angles, so you never miss a snip or staple.

    For those who can’t or don’t want to join in real-time, don’t worry. Each session is recorded.

    When you enrol in one of my courses, you will gain access to your own personal account. Within your account you will find essential course information, such as Zoom joining information and shopping lists. Moreover, the recorded sessions become available within 48 hours of the live class and you can enjoy unlimited access to these recordings. You can watch, pause, rewind as many times as needed to master the art of upholstery at your own pace!

  • No you don’t. The benefits of joining live are that you can get your questions answered. However you are welcome to email in any questions ahead of the session and I will answer them. The recording will then be in your account within 48 hours and you will have unlimited access to this.

  • When you sign up to a course, you will create an account through the website. This is where you will find the Zoom joining information and any other relevant course information. This is also where you will find the recording, which will be there within 48 hours of the live session.

  • There are two ways to watch. You can join me live as I demonstrate the techniques. You will then be able to access the recording within 48 hours in your account, through this website.

  • That depends on the course you plan to take. Some of my individual courses can be taken with a decent manual staple gun and the longer courses will require a compressor and pneumatic staple gun. It will be clear on each page, which tools and equipment you will need.

  • I’m here to help! I offer daytime and evening one-on-one Zoom sessions if you need them. I also have a Facebook group, where you can benefit from support from fellow online students.
