LAUNCH NIGHT
Re-watch our first session here if you need a little reminder about any of the course or fabric requirements.
STAGE 1 FOUNDATIONS OF UPHOLSTERY
Designed for flexibility, this course sets you on the path to a successful business or side-hustle in a very short time. Small projects, transferable skills, repeated techniques and minimal setup costs; all designed to maximize both your learning and earning potential. The course breaks down into six practical modules and one theory module, covered weekly. Join live if you fancy, but no need to worry if you can’t, recordings are available afterwards right here. Watch, copy, learn, repeat and let’s transform your upholstery journey! And if you wish to make-along with me, then head over to our online shop, where you can buy the exact frames I use throughout this course and source a full shopping list of all the sundries required.

UK’S DOMESTIC FIRE REGULATIONS EXPLAINED
If you are planning to sell your furniture, then you MUST comply with UK domestic fire regulations. You can download the complete and in-depth documents by clicking the +
These documents are long and contain a lot of information that you simply don’t need to know. We recommend watching this Dummies Guide, where we have broken it down into easy to understand sections that explains exactly what your obligations are in plain English. If there is anything that isn’t clear, don’t hesitate to get in touch on studio@anthonydevine.online and we’ll be only too happy to help.

MUST WATCHES
Need a little help setting up your compressor or troubleshooting your sewing machine? Have a look at my must-watch videos for a little hand holding to get your confidence soaring and your upholstery on track!

MODULE 1
This is where it all begins! It may seem simple, but mastering the basics is the route to future success I promise you. If you are picking up a staple gun for the first time or just starting out on your upholstery journey, then I cannot stress the importance of practising and repeating the basic techniques covered in this module. Focus on correct form, holding the gun correctly, positioning the seat frame to make yourself comfortable and stapling neatly. The skills covered in this first module will be repeated in every other project you ever undertake so take your time and breathe!
DROP IN SEAT

MODULE 2
CONTEMPORARY STOOL
I designed this sleek and modern stool as a skill-packed powerhouse! An amazingly versatile piece to have in your upholstery repertoire, I have these dotted all over the house! Bedside table, dressing table stool, side table, longer versions as bench seating or at the end of a bed; the list goes on! In session one I’ll guide you through the prep, before you continue to work with a sustainable foam alternative. During sessions 2 and 3 more skills will flood in, as you master applying the top fabric, making and applying piping and sewing and applying a border.

MODULE 3
This is your complete guide to deep buttoning! I'm going to take you through an accessible theory module, during which I will demystify the whole 'maths' of deep buttoning. Honestly it's as simple as 1+2=3! Then I'm going to show you how to create a beautiful deep buttoned footstool from scratch. That's the prep, choosing and applying the correct foam. How to create those deep buttoned holes, measuring out and cutting the fabric and then onto the main event; the deep buttoning itself. Once you've mastered all of the numbers and prep, the actual buttoning is a process of trust. Soon you'll be admiring your work and tweaking those pleats into perfection. It's so satisfying and the results will be amazing, I guarantee!
LEARN HOW TO deep button

An Instagram delight! This headboard has that WOW factor. Whilst this course shows a single being made, which is perfect for a child's room, this could be made to be so much bigger and grander. Think over sized with some eye-catching fabric and you've got yourself the ultimate statement on your hands (or behind your head!). Perfect for boutique hotels or even just your own dream bedroom. The best bit, it's actually pretty simple to achieve once you've mastered the skill. Small slim flutes, chunky bold flutes, we can't wait to see your own take on this! Remember to tag us in your makes or send pictures to us at studio@anthonydevine.online.
MODULE 4
FLUTED HEADBOARD

MODULE 5
THE DRUM STOOL
lJoin me for this four-part masterclass in nailing one of the must-have interior trends of the moment! A versatile and amazing interior piece, very much in demand at the moment; the drum stool can be used as a dressing table stool, coffee table, side table or additional seating! Make them wider and lower or taller and slimmer and bang some attention-grabbing fabric on them!

MODULE 6
square button headboard
Welcome to Module 5 and one of my personal faves. This technique is a great one to master. Actually, very simple but incredibly effective and can be used in so many places - arms, bench seating, cushions, headboards, footstools, ottoman lids, the list goes on! Enjoy this module and get thinking about where you could apply it for that extra bit of pizazz!

BONUS MODULE
SEWING A T-CUSHION
Take your cushion-making skills to the next level by conquering the T Cushion. Named due to its T shape and designed to sit in front of the arms of a chair or sofa, this is a great sewing exercise on its own, even if you don’t actually need to make one. This course covers everything from measuring to cutting and when it comes to the sewing; those all-important pivot points. Grab some scrap fabric and have a go. Remember, practice makes improvements. Don’t let sewing be your nemesis, just keep on practicing and you’ll soon come to love your machine and what it can do!

BONUS MODULE
STATMENT HEADBOARD
In this theory-only module I will be guiding you through the process of crafting a beautiful shaped statement headboard. This module will equip you with the skills to make your own headboard frame before showing you how you can create a standout, statement, shaped headboard with or without piping but either way, looking bang on for the money!

MODULE 7
VAN DYKING
So you’ve learnt deep buttoning and know how to apply it. But what happens if you want to apply the technique to a king size headboard or a super long ottoman and your fabric isn’t wide enough? Well this is where van dyking comes in. It’s the process of joining two pieces of fabric together and hiding that join within the pleats of the deep buttoning. This is a theory only module, during which I’ll show you how to be able to apply this and open up a gateway of larger, more lucrative products!

MODULE 8
SEWING A WINDOW SEAT
Welcome to Module 8. Now we up your sewing game. So far, we've kept it pretty simple from a sewing point of view but mastering a box cushion can open up so many avenues. Think window seats, outdoor cushions, camper-vans and caravans, built-in seating etc. If you're struggling, go back to the basics. Get some scrap fabric and simply practice sewing with your machine. And remember to breathe!
